We were in the process of building a new Google Plus page for our local Thai Food Las Vegas Restaurant, starting with my personal account under Alan Wong. But when we started to work on the page, Kung Fu Thai & Chinese Restaurant was already on Google Plus.
You can imagine my surprise. I never made the Google Plus page and neither had my family. So I called some of our extended team members to see if they had set up a Google Plus page. They all said no. It was a mystery that kept growing.
Since nobody had created the page, I went back to it for a closer look. There was nothing disparaging about it. On the contrary, someone had invested some real time to make a really nice page.

They included our operating hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily(we are actually open from 11 a.m to 11 p.m). They included our introduction, noting that Kung Fu Plaza restaurant is the oldest and most authentic Thai food and Chinese food restaurant in Las Vegas. They even included my email, phone number, and a map. All of the links were set to send people to our new website, the one we’ve developed to make online ordering even easier.
The photos they used included a collection of pictures from our last site design. But perhaps even more amazing than the work they put into the page, this mysterious person had downloaded several of our videos and reconstructed an entirely new 30-second commercial with a new voice over and special effects. The page even had a few fans of the Best Thai food Las Vegas has to offer.
What Is A Thai Food Las Vegas Restaurant To Do About A Fan Page?
As Kung Fu has been working to adopt new technologies like free WiFi and establish ourselves on social networks on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Google Plus, we know that it is our friends and customers who are responsible for our success. We decided to do something else. We want to say Thank You.
My family and I really appreciate this support and we have since we first opened our doors in 1973. Word of mouth from great customers was part of our Thai food in Las Vegas success story before the Internet and it certainly will continue to be now that the Internet has become an important part of any business. It’s people like you. We cannot thank you enough.
With next year being our landmark 40th anniversary in Las Vegas, we are going to start a new tradition for Kung Fu Thai & Chinese Restaurant. We invite all our friends and customers to let us know any time they do something creative or courteous about our restaurant to let us know.
Fans Bring Best Las Vegas Asian Restaurants Honor
It is people like the one who made a fan page that help bring attention to the oldest and most authentic Thai and Chinese restaurant in Las Vegas. They are the same ones who helped us become among the Best Las Vegas Asian Restaurants “Recommended on TripAdvisor” endorsement from the world’s largest travel website. They are the ones who leave great reviews on various rating sites all over the Web. And they are the ones who let us know any time we can “work harder” to live up to our mission and make everything the best it can be. (Kung Fu means ‘to work harder’ in Cantonese.)
From time to time, we would be honored to highlight and share your contributions right here on our blog, whether it is a letter, photograph, video, work of art, or something even more creative that I cannot even imagine. It would be our way of saying thank you and give us something to talk about the next time you come in for a visit.
It is the least we can do. When people support our restaurant, it empowers us to do more and try new things alongside our commitment to authenticity in our traditional family recipes. Some of them date back hundreds of years and more generations than we even know. Thank you.
